Our Statement of Faith
- I -
We believe in the inspiration and authority of the Bible as the
word of God (not recognizing any one translation as the only
inspired translation), which is the complete revelation of His Will
for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all
Christian faith and life.
"All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man
of God
may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17
"For the
word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged
sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and
marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."
Hebrews 4:12-13
- II -
We believe God is the sovereign Creator of all things, who is
sinless, and eternally exist in three distinct persons: The Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Matthew
28:19-20
"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another
Counselor to be with you forever-the Spirit of truth." John
14:15-17
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Genesis
1:1
- III -
We
believe Jesus Christ as true God and perfect man, offered Himself as
a sinless, substitutionary sacrifice for a lost human race and was
physically resurrected from the dead to show that His redeeming work
was perfectly accomplished.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all
things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light
shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came
as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him
all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as
a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man
was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the
world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came
to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to
all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the
right to become children of God-children born not of natural
descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen
his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father,
full of grace and truth." John
1:1-14
"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and
believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved." Romans
10:9
- IV -
We believe in the Holy Spirit, and that He has
given to men, certain spiritual gifts. We believe that all men
should desire these gifts and we welcome in our worship, the
spirit-led expression of these gifts.
"There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There
are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are
different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in
all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given
for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the
message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of
the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another
gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers,
to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to
another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another
the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and
the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he
determines. The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts;
and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with
Christ." 1
Corinthians 12:4-13
- V -
We believe that God originally created man in His image yet man
rebelled against Him; resulting in a state of spiritual separation
from God therefore man’s only hope to be reconciled with God is
through Jesus Christ and his redeeming work.
"Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, in our likeness,
and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air,
over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures
that move along the ground.' So God created man in his own image, in
the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." Genesis
1:26-27
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have
peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have
gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we
rejoice in the hope of the glory of God."
Romans 5:1-2
"Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and
death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because
all sinned-for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But
sin is not taken into account when there is no law. Nevertheless,
death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over
those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a
pattern of the one to come. But the gift is not like the trespass.
For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more
did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man,
Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Again, the gift of God is not
like the result of the one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin
and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and
brought justification. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death
reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive
God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness
reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ." Romans
5:12-17
"…so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might
reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord." Romans
5:21
- VI -
We
believe that salvation (eternal life with God) is entirely a free
gift of God’s grace. It is acquired through personal trust in
Christ’s redemptive work, and that it becomes an eternal possession
of all who are truly born again by the Holy Spirit through faith.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
"As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in
which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and
of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at
work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them
at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and
following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature
objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is
rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in
transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised
us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in
Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the
incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in
Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through
faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by
works, so that no one can boast."
Ephesians 2:1-9

We
believe in baptism by immersion in water as a first step of
obedience upon believing in Christ.
"Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does
not believe will be condemned." Mark
16:16

We
believe that the Church is a universal organism composed of all who
are united by faith to Christ however; it is through the local
church that God’s purposes are fulfilled in the world today.
(Universal Church)
"And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build
my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."
Matthew 16:18
"And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him (Christ)
to be head over everything for the church…" Ephesians
1:22
"And he (Christ) is the head of the body, the church; he is the
beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in
everything he might have the supremacy." Colossians
1:18
(Local Church)
"They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches
of the Gentiles are grateful to them."
Romans 16:4
"If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault,
just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your
brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others
along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of
two or three witnesses.' If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to
the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat
him as you would a pagan or a tax collector. "I tell you the truth,
whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you
loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. "Again, I tell you that if
two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be
done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come
together in my name, there am I with them." Matthew
18:15-20

We
believe in the laying on of hands, the anointing of oil, and the
Table of the Lord as ordinances of the church as commanded by Christ
and demonstrated by his apostles.
"When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had
various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he
healed them." Luke
4:40
"Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church
to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord." James
5:14
"For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The
Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he
had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is
for you; do this in remembrance of me." 25 In the same way, after
supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my
blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." 26
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the
Lord's death until he comes."
1 Corinthians 11:23-26

We
believe that Jesus will return in bodily form to redeem His bride,
resurrect the dead, Judge the fallen world and establish His eternal
kingdom.
"'Men of Galilee,' they said, 'why do you stand here looking into
the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven,
will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.'"
Acts 1:11
"Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: 'See,
the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to
judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly
acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words
ungodly sinners have spoken against him.'"
Jude 1:14-16
"Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar
of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
'Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad
and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen*, bright and clean,
was given her to wear.'
*Fine linen
stands for the righteous acts of the saints.
Then the angel said to me, 'Write: 'Blessed are those who are
invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!'" And he added, "These
are the true words of God.' At this I fell at his feet to worship
him. But he said to me, 'Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with
you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus.
Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.'
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse,
whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and
makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many
crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he
himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is
the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on
white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his
mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. 'He
will rule them with an iron scepter.' He treads the winepress of the
fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he
has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS
Revelation 19:6-16
